If you live in or near Vicksburg, Monday night brought details of the 's 2027 concert plan. Residents packed the high school auditorium as the group presented its outdoor series to the village council. The proposal calls for four concerts next summer, with up to 10,000 people in a village of around 4,000.

Several dozen people spoke over about an hour and a half. Meghan Adams backed the company, saying successful concerts will allow the company to keep supporting the economic growth needed for the mill's restorations. Dennis Anderson doubted visitor traffic would stay clear of emergency vehicles. The council also discussed a letter to the school district about parking on three grass lots on school property.

  • School property: nearly 1,500 of the planned parking spots
  • Show times: gates open mid-day; performances end by 11 p.m.
  • Next step: planning commission reviews the site plan next week
  • Approval: council was told the plan needs it later this month
