  • A new Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon counter opened inside Meijer at 5121 S. Westnedge Ave on Dec. 15, serving fresh pretzels, cinnamon rolls, and beverages daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (a Meijer spokesperson said the addition boosts shopper convenience).  MLive

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Plans to restart the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert Township are delayed until early 2026 instead of this month, with Holtec (the operator) assuring safety amid residents' concerns.  WWMT
  • A great horned owl found tied up in a feed bag on Dec. 6 in South Haven Township is now recovering at Wildside Rehabilitation & Education Center. Caregivers treat her injuries with antibiotics and pain medication, and they plan for her to serve as an education ambassador as she remains non-releasable.  WWMT

  • Holtec Palisades said it will restart the Palisades nuclear plant in early 2026, delaying the previously expected end-of-2025 reopening, and officials confirmed that the project is on track and under budget in Covert Township (MI).  WKZO
