➤ Portage Public Schools plans to open three new elementary schools from 2027 through 2029; construction has begun on Woodland which will open in 2027, with Amberly and Angling Road scheduled for fall 2028 and fall 2029 respectively (funded by a $132.4M bond passed in November). MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ Portage Public Safety Director Nicholas Armold retired Tuesday after a 38 year career + eight years as director, with a reception honoring his service, while Assistant Police Chief Matthew Wolfe became interim director and is set to take over officially today following a council vote. WWMT
