- ➤ Women’s Resource Center announced Darlene Lee as its permanent CEO after serving as interim head for four months. She will focus on strengthening staff, deepening donor ties, and expanding services for women in West Michigan. MLive
- ➤ A silent auction was held at the Bellflower Monday evening to support the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Local organizers Stormy Halstead + Matthew Goetzka raised over $1,000 to help missing children return home for the holiday season. WWMT
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Zap Zone XL will open a multi-activity venue at the former Sears in Crossroads Mall, offering indoor skating, bowling, laser tag, go-karts, mini golf and a bar for family, adult and corporate events. The project (costing $12 to $15 million) bought the space in October 2024. MLive
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Local officers urge residents to check ice thickness before venturing onto frozen lakes; safe ice is at least 4 inches for walking, 8 inches for driving, and up to 15 inches for vehicles (use tools like a spud or auger). Residents should call 911 if someone falls through. WWMT

- ➤ After winning the MAC championship game, Western Michigan University football team will travel to South Carolina to face Kennesaw State in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on Friday, Dec. 19; ticket details will be released Monday and kick-off is set for 11:00 a.m. WKZO
