GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Portage launched Portage Traxx Monday to help residents track when streets are plowed during a heavy snowfall that brought about a foot of snow over the weekend — the system uses GPS on plow trucks to show road priority and status and will later expand its use for spring cleanup services. - ➤ The city commission voted unanimously Monday, Dec 1 to advance the rezoning proposal near Asylum Lake—despite the planning commission's earlier rejection—and property owner Haji Tehran secured a buyer who required the change for commercial use. A public hearing and final decision will be set at a meeting on Dec 15 to address community concerns and alternative venues. MLive
