- ➤ Data from a Freedom of Information Act request shows that Western Michigan University’s men's football coach Lance Taylor earned $877,600 between Sept. 11 and Sept. 10, making him the highest-paid employee, while men's hockey coach Pat Ferschweiler earned $578,100 with bonuses for his achievements. The pay list also revealed that athletic staff and university executives ranked high in earnings, with WMU President Russ Kavalhuna earning $87,500 during part of his first year. MLive
