- ➤ Today, the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport is hosting a food drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to distribute food bags and host a potluck for about 100 unpaid TSA and air traffic control agents during the government shutdown+ local donations provided the supplies. WWMT
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said that starting Saturday, 1.4-million eligible Michiganders will receive partial SNAP benefits at 50% of the normal amount following a court order due to the federal government shutdown; the payments will appear on debit cards November 8th for those who normally receive them on the third, fifth, or seventh of the month—officials said. - ➤ The Kalamazoo County board approved winners for its first Community Grant program last night — $400,000 was divided among local projects — and winners must report back on their progress in a year. WKZO
- ➤ A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on November 11 regardless of the federal government shutdown, with a flyover at 11 a.m. Colonel Frank Walker said the community provided the stage, loudspeakers and chairs needed for the event. WKZO
