- ➤ The city of Portage launched a new rental housing website through its partnership with City Wise Software so renters can find verified listings and landlords can list properties for free—built for Portage’s local housing market. The platform is available online—providing a trusted, city-supported tool for housing searches. MLive
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services will pause SNAP benefits for November because a government shutdown caused a funding lapse—South Michigan Food Bank CEO Peter Vogel said nearly 125,000 people in eight counties may turn to food distribution sites, and the bank is ready to use cash reserves to help meet the need. The food assistance program will continue for the rest of this month while officials work to secure next month’s funding. WWMT
