- ➤ A plant worker fell into the reactor cavity while reloading fuel at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant Tuesday around 9:30 a.m.—ingesting water that recorded 300 counts per minute—and was taken offsite for medical attention at 4:32 p.m., with details on their treatment and condition still unknown. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Portage is now accepting Fuel Wood Harvest Permits for its Timber Harvest Program, which launches November 1 and lets residents collect firewood in designated areas. The program supports healthy forests by removing downed trees from the May 2024 tornado and encouraging native species regeneration — American Arbor will conduct tree remediation on affected properties.
