- ➤ State Rep Longjohn warned the state government may shut down if the budget is not completed by October 1+ He told the Portage City Council that delayed framework and proposed cuts to law enforcement and county programs could lead to a significant impact on state operations. WKZO
- ➤ Kalamazoo County is moving ahead with The Landing Place family shelter at 1912 E. Kilgore Service Rd. and expects to welcome its first residents in December while officials hope that Portage + other municipalities will partner in the effort. MLive
