Westnedge Ave after decades of serving families since it opened in 1983 and canceled memberships effective Sept. 8. Kroger purchased the strip mall on June 10 for $10 million—its future plans for the space remain unannounced.

Texas Township officials will let voters decide on funding emergency services on the ballot in August 2026 after canceling plans for a Special Assessment District due to community concerns.
Township Supervisor Joanne McFarland O’Rourke said the board is testing temporary funding measures while preparing voter details—long-term funding will depend on the vote outcome.

Michigan’s bear hunting season will take place later this fall for licensed hunters after a drawing, with Upper Peninsula hunts from Sept.
10 to Oct. 26 and northern Lower Peninsula hunts from Sept. 13 to 23 or Oct. 3 to 9—hunters must register bear parts within 72 hours and cook meat to 160 degrees to prevent trichinosis.
