ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Four people were hospitalized after a crash in Kalamazoo County yesterday afternoon in Alamo Township when a Dodge Stratus driven by a 17-year-old female was struck by a Ford F-250 at West B Avenue and Ravine Road—a 25-year-old passenger in the Dodge is in critical condition while both drivers sustained minor injuries.  WKZO

CRIME NEWS

  • Dakota Hall, 27, was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault and battery after allegedly stabbing his 49-year-old father multiple times near Schoolcraft on Wednesday — he remains in Kalamazoo County Jail with a cash bond set at $25,000.  WWMT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Friday, Portage Northern High School students walked out of class to demand lawmakers act on gun violence—about 70 students joined organizers Madeline Duhn and Riya Bhatt in calling for immediate change to end the fear in classrooms.  WWMT

  • The Forest Hills Central Rangers and Portage Central Mustangs played in week two of the high school football season on Sept. 5 at Forest Hills Central High School and the Mustangs won by a score of 41 to 0.  MLive
