- ➤ Roxette is starting their first US tour in years with a Michigan concert in Clarkston; they will perform at Pine Knob on Thursday, Sept. 10 and tickets go on sale on Friday, May 29 (at 10:00 a.m.). MLive

- ➤ City Director of Senior Citizen Services Kim Phillips received national recognition as a Trailblazer in Aging from the National Council on Aging at the 2026 Age+Action Conference. She oversees services at Portage’s Zhang Senior Center (designed to promote independence and connection for older adults). WKZO
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services issued a public advisory for a harmful algal bloom in Austin Lake in Portage after samples taken May 27 tested positive for microcystin (a cyanobacteria toxin). Residents and pet owners should avoid contact with the water. MLive
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Senior Sydney Schero delivered a walk-off hit that gave Portage Central a 1-0 district opener win over Mattawan Tuesday + the team will meet Kalamazoo Central in its semifinal on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Loy Norrix. MLive
- ➤ High school girls tennis finals begin this weekend as top underclassmen battle for individual and team titles (readers can vote for their favorite until 11:59 p.m. Sunday). MLive
- ➤ College-bound Vince Vale and Zane Roberts powered Mattawan lacrosse to a 12-5 win over Portage Northern for a regional title on Tuesday, May 26 at Mattawan High School (in Mattawan) and will face Detroit Country Day in a Division 2 state quarterfinal on Friday at Ypsilanti Lincoln. MLive
