COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Kalamazoo County opened The Landing Place, an $8 million transitional shelter for homeless families (converted from a former hotel) at 1912 E. Kilgore Service Road; it provides short-term housing and supportive services to help families move to permanent housing. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A $31.7 million project on I-94 between Exits 39 and 41 will resume on Monday, May 4. The Michigan Department of Transportation and Rieth-Riley Construction will repave the road, repair a bridge and keep two lanes open for most work, which will continue for seven months and finish Nov. 25.
