- ➤ On March 26, a 47-year-old Muskegon County man won a second lottery jackpot with a $1 million prize notification after previously winning $366,984 in Feb. 2025. He visited Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim his win & plans to invest his prize. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ WMU launched the Zhang Financial Presidential Internship on Friday, giving a select student a paid yearlong role managing part of President Russ Kavalhuna’s portfolio. Mo Tall (a first-generation student and Army soldier) was chosen and will receive a $5,000 award under Zhang Financial’s mentorship. WWMT
- ➤ WMU's Department of Physics earned NASA and Artemis mission badges after completing a 2024 research project testing spacecraft cables for Artemis and Lunar Gateway missions — the team simulated radiation and heat using its particle accelerator to ensure safe operations. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Comstock Township Fire & Rescue hosted an open house on Thursday, inviting community members to tour the aging Station 9-3 and learn about plans for a new facility that will reduce response times. The department purchased three acres on East Michigan Avenue and will seek bond funding for the project. WWMT
