  • Kalamazoo County leaders approved a rule that lets hotels with at least 35 rooms vote on a 4% fee on stays shorter than 30 days to help pay for a new $40M youth sports facility. Ballots must be returned by 4 p.m. on April 30—votes representing at least 60% of hotel rooms are needed for the proposal to pass.  MLive
  • The Michigan Department of Transportation is replacing traffic light control boxes at the intersection of Westnedge Avenue and I-94—affecting three lanes on Westnedge Avenue and causing delays from 8:00 a.m. today to Friday, April 4—so drivers should seek alternate routes.  MLive

  • Walker’s Wine Juice of New York is recalling its pumpkin juice due to potential contamination with Botulism— a rare, deadly poison— after a state inspection found risk in bulk shipments sent to Michigan and other states; no illnesses have been reported.
