Kalamazoo County leaders approved a rule that lets hotels with at least 35 rooms vote on a 4% fee on stays shorter than 30 days to help pay for a new $40M youth sports facility.

Ballots must be returned by 4 p.m. on April 30—votes representing at least 60% of hotel rooms are needed for the proposal to pass.
