  • More than 4,000 bags of Traverse City cherry-flavored coffee were recalled on March 13 for mislabeling that did not indicate the product contains caffeine—buyers in Michigan and 14 other states may return it for a refund or replacement.  MLive

  • Three Rivers Police Department warned local retail businesses today to watch for phone scams when a caller posing as an owner instructed employees during overnight hours to withdraw cash and deposit it into a Bitcoin machine—businesses are urged to educate staff and set up clear contact points.  WWMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Portage city officials lifted the boil water advisory after completing water main repairs and confirming that water samples passed state standards — ending the advisory for the Davis Creek Apartments on the 5400 block of Meredith Street following a leak at 5427 Meredith Street.  MLive
  • On Saturday, March 29th, West Michigan residents protested peacefully to show concern over Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s role in politics—hundreds gathered at the Tesla Supercharger near Westnedge and Kilgore Road in Portage while over 100 assembled outside a dealership in Grand Rapids. The demonstrators said their actions were meant to defend the democratic process and express distrust over Musk's political influence.  WWMT

SPORTS NEWS

  • Western Michigan earned its first-ever Frozen Four berth with a 2–1 win over UMass on March 22—recording its first NCHC Tournament title and eight straight wins. The Broncos will face either Boston College or Denver in the national semifinals on April 10 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.  MLive
