- ➤ Portage homeowners told the city council last night about an ex-felon (with a long police record) who tore down neighbor fences, dumped tornado debris in yards, and assaulted a homeowner, and council members planned to meet with the city manager and review police reports to spur further action. - ➤ Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller said a deputy shot and killed a dog that attacked him Monday afternoon in a Comstock Township parking lot at Menards on Gull Road—while questioning an SUV driver for a stolen license plate, the driver exited his vehicle holding a pizza box and was arrested for stolen property, the dog incident and having a suspended license. - ➤ On March 26, a suspected DUI driver going the wrong way on US-131 near W D Avenue was stopped at around 1:01 a.m. by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office using emergency lights and road spikes, and the driver was arrested on charges of DUI and possession of suspected illegal drugs with no injuries reported.
