- ➤ Crossroads Mall is being restructured by Summit Properties USA to improve the shopping experience and boost community engagement. New attractions—like a bungee trampoline in the center court and a Zap Zone in the old Sears building—will offer games, bowling, and go-karts to draw more visitors. WWMT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Portage law enforcement investigated a bomb threat at Crossroads Mall on March 17th and evacuated the building after a K-9 unit cleared the area—no bomb was found and officials believe it was a swatting attempt. WWMT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, the DOE approved a $57M disbursement from a $1.52B loan to help restart the Palisades nuclear plant in southwestern Michigan. Holtec International said it will resume operations by October to produce 800MW of power — restoring about 600 jobs pending Nuclear Regulatory Commission approval. WWMT
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Three Kalamazoo-area swimmers became state champions at the state finals over the weekend—William Blind won the 1-meter dive, Liam Smith defended his medley and butterfly titles, and Sam Harper won the 500-yard freestyle. Ten area swimmers earned all-state honors and two relay teams also achieved recognition—showing strong competition at the meet. MLive
