- ➤ Portage officials have set a special traffic plan for Raising Cane’s grand opening on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6005 S. Westnedge Ave. Drivers should follow posted signage and use designated lanes to access the new drive-thru (to avoid blocking local business driveways). MLive
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Warner Vineyards in Paw Paw is upgrading its historic music venue with a new stage, improved viewing platforms, and 14 custom shipping containers (to become mini suites, concession areas, and bathrooms). The renovations are planned for the season starting May 9, pending local permits. MLive
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Southwest Michigan reached a record $9.5 billion in economic investments over the last three years, noted Jonas Peterson (CEO for Southwest Michigan First) during the annual State of Economic Development on Feb. 5. He detailed 20 projects spanning industrial and community developments across seven counties. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Education reminds all public schools that today is spring count day for state funding. Schools count students as present if they attend within follow-up days (30 days for excused, 10 days for unexcused, or 45 days if suspended). WWMT
