- ➤ Family Promise of Southwest Michigan has named Andrea Tramel as its new executive director to operate The Landing Place—a transitional shelter for unhoused families slated to open by April near the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport. The shelter will provide meals, case management, and housing navigation services. WKZO

- ➤ Seniors Helping Seniors (run by Lisa and Jeff Vander Ploeg) launched on Oct. 1 in Kalamazoo County to help seniors remain at home with companion or personal care. They have hired over two dozen caregivers and plan to expand staffing soon. MLive
